A newly surfaced photo reveals that Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) sports a prominent tribal-style tattoo reminiscent of trends from the late 1990s. The image, taken at Lake Worth Beach in Florida, shows the congresswoman in a bikini, with a bold geometric design covering the right side of her torso—an aesthetic that wouldn’t have looked out of place at a rock concert from decades past.

“We admire strong, vibrant, and proud American women like Lauren,” shared Ginger Gaetz, wife of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), in a post on X along with the photo. “Well… there it is!” Boebert responded.”
Boebert Tattoos
The timing of the photo, where Boebert is seen wearing a dark top and leopard print bottoms, remains uncertain, as does the date when the 37-year-old grandmother got her tattoo. Notably, she is wearing what appears to be an engagement or wedding ring on her left hand, despite finalizing her divorce from Jayson Boebert in October 2023, after 16 years of marriage. The couple shares four children.
Gaetz’s wife shared the image to support fellow Republican Anna Paulina Luna, following the viral spread of an old video showing the Florida congresswoman in a form-fitting MAGA swimsuit from 2016.
Tribal tattoos, which gained popularity in alternative circles during the late 1990s and early 2000s, are characterized by bold black geometric designs. These patterns are often inspired by Indigenous and traditional tattoos, particularly those from Samoan, Polynesian, and Maori cultures.
Certainly, Boebert’s ink bears a remarkable resemblance to the motifs found in a prominent 1991 collection by Leo Zulueta, a Filipino American tattoo artist whose groundbreaking designs played a key role in popularizing tribal tattoos.
In June, Boebert attributed her victory in the Republican primary for Colorado’s 4th congressional district to divine intervention and her “Christian values.” She abandoned her previous race in Colorado’s 3rd district—where she currently serves—in favor of a more secure seat, prompting accusations of opportunism.
Her adherence to those “Christian values” has faced scrutiny. Last year, Boebert and a date were removed from a Denver performance of Beetlejuice The Musical for inappropriate behavior, including vaping and groping, to the dismay of the audience. Boebert later acknowledged her lapse in values in a public apology.
Earlier this year, she was cited for driving 84 mph in a 65-mph zone. In the police body camera footage, she attributed the speeding to transmission issues with her car. She also missed the initial deadline to pay her fine, settling it only after the case had been scheduled for court.
Her 19-year-old son, Tyler Boebert, is now facing nearly two dozen charges, including four felonies, for what local authorities in Colorado have described as a series of vehicle trespasses and property thefts. She became a grandmother last year when her then-17-year-old son’s partner gave birth to a boy.
