NIRF Rankings 2024: New Categories and Data Integrity
NIRF 2024 expands its reach with the introduction of new categories. The rankings now include 50 top state public universities and a subsequent 50 in the 51-100 range. While open and skill universities show promising growth with three ranked institutions each, the innovation category boasts 10 top institutions and an additional 40 in the 11-50 bracket.
The NIRF team prioritizes data accuracy and transparency. Through rigorous triangulation methods and institutional collaboration, data inflation is minimized. Leveraging third-party sources like Scopus, Web of Science, and Derwent Innovation for publication, citation, and patent data further enhances the ranking’s credibility. This commitment to data integrity allows for refined ranking parameters and metrics, providing a more accurate reflection of India’s higher education landscape.
NIRF 2024: A Comprehensive Evaluation
The NIRF rankings assess institutions across five key pillars: Teaching, Learning, and Resources; Research and Professional Practice; Graduation Outcomes; Outreach and Inclusivity; and Perception.
While publicly funded institutions dominate the top tiers, a growing number of state and private universities and colleges are making significant strides, securing prominent positions within the top 100 rankings in various categories.
